Ironling by S. E. Wendel

I know these books are about green men falling In love with human women, but spare a moment for me to wax poetic about why they’re so good. Here you’ve got a woman who is in a position of power, which is also super stressful, and due to her neuro-spicy nature she struggles to cope. In less skilled hands, the story would be about a big strong half-man swooping in to rescue her from her responsibilities and take her away from all that and into a world of quiet luxury and ease. But that’s not really what we want, is it. Not me, anyway. I want position and power and meaning and the stress that comes with it and then I want those big arms to hold me as I complain about it. Tell me I’m right and everyone else is wrong. Make me a sandwich. Ease has its place, but not all day every day. I want to struggle a bit and have someone tell me the struggle is worth it and that I’m doing amazing. That’s the vibe of this book.
