The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne

The five stars is for the audiobook narrator, Derek Perkins. Sir, I do not know how you do that thing that you do with the words in the book and when you say them with your voice, but it makes things so great. The book itself is like a four; totally solid, exactly what you think it’s gonna be, but in the most gratifying of ways, and I always thought that having someone narrate a book like this to me would be weird? Kind of like awkward? And when I envision Derek Perkins in my mind, it’s an older gentleman, probably white hair, very British, and tell me why that vision so effortlessly morphs into whatever character he’s voicing. Tell me why after one audiobook I would trust this man with my life. Derek Perkins is my emergency contact, he’s the chief beneficiary on my life insurance (and I do mean 100% of it), he’s my medical power of attorney. please never tell him I said this.
