Bound and Tied by A. K. Cagiano

I thoroughly enjoy all of A. K.'s books, but this one probably made me laugh the most. Sometimes fantasy can be so severely serious, and there's a definite place for that; I love the investment that a life-or-death stakes story demands of you just as much as the next fan, but sometimes you just kinda need a break without losing out on all the magic, wonder and furtive glances. Also, yes to a hero who is morally ambiguous and also cares about the particular press of his trousers. Yes to a heroine who can see the value in that. Also worth mentioning: kids as B characters in most fantasy novels really aren't my thing but somehow it is done here without sending my eyes rolling.

Forget beach reads, summer reads, vacation reads; this is your weekend read. Enjoy. You are welcome.
