Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon

This book is deeply unserious and I could not be happier about it. That’s not to say that bad things don’t happen here, so check your trigger warnings, but overall it’s just good *clean fun. I think the thing I like the most is that our FMC is not extraordinary; she’s funny and she’s got grit, but she’s just…normal. And yet she gets the most glorious treatment, devotion, and care. As though us normals deserve such things. It was just nice to see an average, no-magic-having, non-princess with no money and no prospects get a seven foot tall hulking slab of near-man meat cooking for and fawning all over her. Utter devotion. With little to no effort on her part. As it should be.

Also, the Star Wars references were surprising and delightful.

Also also, anyone else getting Seven Brides for Seven Brothers vibes near the end?

*filthy
