The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

This one got me. Maybe it’s because it’s the first romance novel I’ve read without magic, dragons, horned/winged/tailed males or a highlander; just two humans in an office. Before yesterday, I had never heard of this book or this author and now I feel…good. Slightly disoriented. Why do I like this so much? I actually don’t want to think about it.

Synopsis without spoilers (though you definitely already know how this will end):

Our MMC and FMC work across from each other, hate each other, can’t stand each other and for sure (for sure) do not want to fuck each other. For sure. That’s it; that’s the book.

And look, I’m not into books where the dude is a complete asshole the whole time and then you’re expected to be happy when he gets the girl, whose entire personality seems to have been retrofitted specifically to balance out the asshole. This is not that. You are in good hands here. And it’s funny. Reading this, I felt warm and fuzzy and a little weepy but mostly just…good.
