The Undying King by Grace Draven

I did not like this and I am so surprised because this author is one of my favorites. Radiance and Eidolon are two of the best fantasy romance books I’ve ever read; best fantasy romance couple of all time, probably. This book, these characters, this general vibe, could not be farther from what I know and love of her stories so far.

A quick synopsis without any real spoilers: a very very ancient king who was cursed with immortality because he was a bad person is found by a young virgin who can’t touch anyone or they will die. She thinks he’s hot. He’s like “all right I guess,” and I really…that’s it. I mean, obviously that’s not IT, but I am being ungenerous on purpose.

I got full on ick from this book and I think that’s just because it combined two things I really don’t enjoy reading about, and that is age gap romance where the FMC is younger, and also virgins who give up their entire lives for the first piece of D they’ve ever had.

I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed.
